Haven't seem them in person, but I agree, they look good judging by the photos.
Looking at the photos, I thought they were smaller too, but according to the specs, the D3 are larger in all aspects and substantially heavier than the D2...

D2
Height 1135mm
Width 368mm
Depth 563mm
Weight 72kg

D3
Height 1212mm
Width 390mm
Depth 583mm
Weight 94.5kg

Wow
I would have lost a bet on that.

Guys

I ordered the 802d3/htm1d3 and am sort of second guessing myself and thinking the 803d3/htm2d3 would be more than what I need.

My threatre room will be 14.5' x 19' with 7.5' ceilings.

Looking at pics of the 803d3 it looks to be the same height and width as my 802D2, so worried the 802d3 may be too large aesthetically and sound wise possibly too much?

My first rule with cars, audio, and girls: Drive it before you buy it, or dont complain about the results.

THanks guys. I'll stick with my order. Better to not regret getting the higher models.

Good advice!
SMC23: I have purchased "blind" a few times after doing my research and due diligence with positive results. However, at AXPONA last year I had a really good discussion with Audio Research's rep that told me the biggest and by far the most common mistake in our hobby is listeners buying speakers that are simply too much for their room and space. Once that is done, it is very, very hard to get everything else right in the room. I am assuming your dealer would work with you in this case to be sure you can move to a smaller model if it is in fact "too much speaker".

After taking part of an B&W event in Sweden today with Ole Vidar Andersland from B&W Group I have now placed an order for a pair of 803D3 and a HTM1D3.

According to Ole you get a significant improved sound with the bigger center speaker. He also said that there would not be a difference in sound that was audible having different sizes in midrange/bass.
I also asked Patric Butler in another thread where he said the same about pairing the bigger center with 803D3.
So I felt safe ordering HTM1D3 without hearing it.

Delivery is planned for early december.
