It is my opinion that if Shindo uses such poor quality female RCA connectors that they become damaged from using anything except Shindo interconnects then the designer has chose the wrong parts. If only Shindo cables offer longevity for connectors then the interconnects should be provided with the component, or at the very least this peculiarity should be disclosed prior to selling a Shindo component so that the consumer can make an informed decision. Personally, I think this is smoke and mirrors to sell cables. If these connectors are so "special" then why do they fail so easily?

"It is my opinion that if Shindo uses such poor quality female RCA connectors that they become damaged from using anything except Shindo interconnects then the designer has chose the wrong parts."
Thats written as fact, not opinion and totally incorrect. Poor quality connector? Nobody said anything about poor quality, only about how to use something properly. Its by far the best sounding connector and like all things, needs to be used properly. Connectors have two parts, male and female. Just as you would not use a sports car for offroading and then decide its poor quality when its guts pour out all over the hillside... "If only Shindo cables offer longevity for connectors then the interconnects should be provided with the component, or at the very least this peculiarity should be disclosed prior to selling a Shindo component so that the consumer can make an informed decision." It is disclosed to customers. And unlike 99.99% of equipment manufacturers, Shindo doesn't conform to usually seen low standards of one size fits all. Literally in this case. I don't run a charity nor does Shindo so all cables need to be paid for. "Personally, I think this is smoke and mirrors to sell cables." Sometimes I wonder why I bother... And the same is said about Spectral? Naim? Some gear has requirements or damage can occur. I also said the cables need to be at least terminated with Switchcrafts and the cables should not be heavy. But maybe its best to leave this forum with tons of misinformation posted. It seems when Matt or I try to help, its always under suspicion. And this time from a moderator. Jonathan |

Jonathan.......No reason to get your feathers fluffed. Being a moderator doesn't mean I am not a member of this forum first and entitled to my opinions, the same as you. I don't have to mute my opinions for any reason. Anyone can say anything on the Internet, but that doesn't make it fact. I always recommend that everyone find out for themselves. I would, however, agree that those with an interest in the sales, service, and accessories of Shindo products seem to want to have the loudest voice. I am not trying to discredit your comments, simply offering my opinion. Embrace it or reject it, that's up to you.

Yeah, that doesn't sit well with me so I can imagine how the Shindo folks would take it. |

Also, I tend to think that referring to "rose colored Shindo glasses" is a bit of a swipe at Shindo owners...as if we are too foolish to realize what is an obvious ploy to sell cables. That's interesting...I tend to give a bit more credit to the majority of people that have the ability to put tens of thousands of dollars into a system. Let me put it this way...What if - now just CONSIDER this - what if Shiindo really feels that these are the best connections? They just happen to be fragile. He still uses them because it works for his vision. What the heck is wrong with that? Doesn't seem like a big deal - buy the cables. Heck, if they were designed for the product, what is the issue. Seems like a no brainer. Am I supposed to feel duped because I cannot use my other fancy cables? Are people this invested in being able to choose cables. Yowza...sounds like someone else is wearing the glasses. Besides, the Shindo ICs probably cost less than the majority of other choices. Or - as JH said - put the $2 connectors on your cable of choice. Doesn't sound like a conspiracy to me.
