I ordered my Mac with the stock DA1 which I had in the MA5300 I traded up from so I'm very familiar with its performance and sound quality. I use it with an MCT80 and find it more than adequate for the playback of my SACDs and CDs. The DA2 is definitely something to aspire to but at the moment I'm content with digital playback to the extent I've taken it and totally enamored with SACD and CD like vinyl as a physical format. |

Purchased this one used in 2004. Periodically think about selling it but like to listen from time to time. In the Hudson Valley, NY, Vassar College 91.3 has some good programming.

Charles....that's a fact. In fact, I've toyed with the idea of adding one to my fleet more than once!

For me speakers that offer tri-amping ought to be tri-amped if possible because there is no question, if the speaker is so designed, it will sound better that the passive route. However, this is extremely expensive to accomplish correctly because of additional cables, amps, etc. The MC303 totally solvers this problem. Likewise, the MAC7200 solves these types issues for speakers that do not need tri or bi-amping. It's a great piece of gear that can be the hub of a high end sound system for years to come. Nobody but Mac makes gear like a 7200 or 303. They are quite unique. Having a built in MR87 is remarkable. Best Charles |

Your tuner is stunning. I believe the MR78 is my favorite of all the vintage Mac tuners.

The tuner in MX130 is great. I can't believe how clean the sound is. Zero background noise.
