I agree with Jeff about starting a new thread as your question on upgrade path and sequencing will probably be burried in this thread and won't get the attention it deserves. I also agree that you should become a subscriber given your proposed buy list. There are many Macintosh lunatics here and they often put up pristine condition up for sale as they cycle through products. But the only way to avail yourself of the equipment for sale on this site is to become a subscriber.

To get to your question, my take on your situation is to start with either upgrading the source or your preamp for the greatest bang for your buck initially, followed by the amp. I would leave cabling to the end once you have dialed-in the main pieces in your system. Good luck.
