Default Anyone tried Daads?

Hello everybody,

Did anyone here tried Acustica Applicata's Daads?
What is your experience with these diffusers?

I've heard them in stores and at a friends home.
They work pretty well, but i have no idea how they perform against competitive products.
Are they really the "best in their field"?

Sander.

I have never heard of this product/company but in general, I'd be weary of any products that claim benefits that are not measurable (ie: 'clearness', 'airiness', 'sound stage', 'clearing acoustic slime'), especially when they have no published test results. This of course goes for any acoustic product.

It may also be some translation problem but some of the description doesn't even make sense: "a diffusion-diffraction device". Diffraction means the sound wave is moving around something, ie: not being affected by the unit. Usually you try to avoid diffraction with an acoustic device. Also the device claims that it is capable of "changing" your rooms dimensions, which is quite an odd and obviously ridiculous claim. Of course it means changes them "acoustically" but, this also makes no sense. All absorbers "acoustically" change the dimension of your room slightly because air moves slower through fiber; although this is a very small effect unless the absorber is extremely large (1m thick, say).

Edit: This isn't to say that they don't work: I'm sure they provide absorption and act as a semi-circular scattering device - these are very basic functions that anyone can build into a product. It's just that the devices' other claims don't really make sense, or make it any different from any other device. If choosing between multiple products, I would treat this like any other similar thickness absorber that has some scattering capability.

"It took me 9 days to unpack them, and It took me 14 days to toe in my speakers just perfect, and another 7 days to put spikes in. The synergy is liquid, and the notes poured out of my newest speaker, and spun above my head along with my furniture, then cascaded down on me like Zeppelin fairy Dust.

I put potted plants around the home for bass control. 3 days to get that right. I am spritzing them with water, for it to effect the treble.

I was at my dealer and sat down. I think I fell asleep, because when I awoke, I was at home, in my chair with a 20 watt amp. Much better than the 1000 watts before, just so clean and pure, honey made by angels. A magic wand is now my remote."

I have DaaD 4+5 in the corners behind the speakers and DaaD 2 on the backwall between the speakers.

They are expensive.
