A XMas jazz classic. Who can't love this?

Lee Morgan - The Sidewinder

I am a big fan of jazz trumpet. For me, Morgan shows great technique and great musicianship at the same time. Highly recommended.

I was the successful bidder on a Sam Rivers LP on the French Fluid label - the LP features Rivers with Dave Holland and Barry Altschul and is called Paragon - should arrive in a week or so - to celebrate, I am listening to two wonderful duet albums of Sam Rivers & Dave Holland on the Improvising Artists label recorded by David Baker in February 1976.

Volume 1 features Sam on soprano on Side A and tenor on Side B
Volume 2 features Sam on flute on Side A and piano on Side B

Gorgeous free jazz, essential for fans of Holland's Conference of the Birds.
