Can you recommend a four channel quadraphonic
Reel to Reel? What do you like and why? For some crazy reason, I don't like the two channel machines and would prefer a quad r to r.

Scott.......I have been a reel to reel tape enthusiast since the late '60's. My first reel to reel machine was an Akai deck with Crossfield heads that I bought at the Navy exchange in Yokosuka, Japan. I have also owned Teac decks, a Revox A77, and now own a Revox B77 Mk 2 and an Akai GX636. The Revox B77 is a two channel reel to reel with half-track heads, and the Akai GX636 is a two channel reel to reel with quarter-track heads.
Trying to locate a four channel reel to reel tape deck in good condition these days will likely be difficult. I know Akai, Tascam and Otari made four channel decks for home audio systems. Good luck in your search.

I just wanted to let everyone from this thread know that I was about to get both of my Teac 3340s Reel to Reel recorders working. It was a matter of getting some better quality tape not a machine problem. Thanks for your help and advice.

Can you recommend a four channel quadraphonic
greetings all. I recently picked up one of these and im getting no sound in the right channel. no needle movement for that channel either.
anyone know if this is a common problem and how to fix it, or where i should start looking first. thanks.

I got a whole case of fresh sealed Scotch #207, which I always thought was the best tape in all regards for the 3340S, but a shame that it's all 7" Reels. Wanna see something really sweet!? I'm thinking of dumping my mint wired remote for one of these! I like this.
