Default Cable break-in

I understand the concept, and utility, of "break-in". After all, my new shoes are definitely more comfortable after they have been worn for a while and have consequently conformed to the shape of my feet. What I don't understand is the scientific basis behind the breaking in of a cable. Is a cable, like a shoe, a mechanical device, too? Regardless whether if so or if not, what exactly is going on physically over time within a cable which results in its being broken in?

You may need the Cable Cooker so you can "Hear What You're Missing" and only $1799 for the Anniversary Edition HI-POWER Premium Plus. https://www.thecablecooker.com/

Cook your power cords 4-5 days.
"And doing a “periodic recharge” of a system’s cabling every 3 or 4 months insures that a system will be at it’s optimum performance level. This makes the Cable Cooker a great long-term value. Conditioning is not a one-time phenomenon."

Default Cable break-in

Also give the Frycorder a go. Far less expensive and can condition your power cords AC duplex and wiring all the way to the transformer. Works wonders.
The IC/SC version does wonders too but a bit difficult to use with balanced IC’s. Nevertheless both the Frycorders and/or Cable Cooker are essential to own.

Not sure if you should cryogenically freeze before or after you cook your cables.

Maybe Kal knows.

I'm just glad such subjects can actually be discussed here on AA.

My issue with cable break in is that I don't know how you would reconcile the fact that they are either "breaking in" or your ears are getting accustomed to new cables in your system. How would you ever be able to determine which is which?

If anyone has broken in more cables than me, I guess I haven’t met him yet.

That said; having as many systems as I do, and upgrading all of them pretty consistently I can safely state the following.

1) Cable break in is as real as rain.

2) I keep an xcel spreadsheet with all my systems listed on tabs; I post what upgrades are done, date and most importantly the hours on the system at that time. I even keep a section where I write my notes.

3) it simply isn’t possible for my ears to just get accustomed to the change of cables. This is factual, at least for me since no single system gets listened to that much.

You need to post some screen shots of that organization! That's impressive!!

I'm still wondering if the Cable Cooker will bring out optimum performance for my Monoprice power cords.
