Don, I agree and have pitched such an idea. But, I'm married and my wife isn't that bothered by my allergies. The kids are slowly ruining the carpet anyway, so in a couple of years, she wants to replace it all. Also, were going to do some remodeling that will add another room, she wants to put the same carpet into it as well. Until then, its an air filter.

A little research tells me that Blueair is one of the best air filters...however, "One downside to the Blueair 650E's use of ionization is that it emits ozone, though it meets FDA standards for ozone emissions". Myself, I'm going to stay clear of ozone production in my house regardless of meeting FDA standards. That's for 650E. I didn't look any further at other Blueair models- they might be different.
Apparently, IQ Air filters to a standard 100 times finer than HEPA - .003 microns as opposed to the HEPA standard of .3 microns ! I believe I read somewhere that IQ Air pioneered air filtration ~ 60 years ago..maybe that's home filtration? That reminds me of McIntosh. It was founded by 2 German brothers and the business is now in Switzerland. In 2002, IQAir became the first and only room air cleaner to receive a H12/13 certification for its HyperHEPA® filters, normally only available in multi-million dollar cleanroom filtration systems. Just sayin' ---- John

John, your alarmist comment regarding Blueair products producing ozone together with your other comments demonstrate such an in-depth knowledge and commercial awareness of IQ Air and it's competitors as to suggest you're either a Distributor, Dealer or stand to gain some benefit from promoting that brand.

Atmosphere Air Purifier
Not cheap (unless you know an IBO that can get it at the "wholesale" rate) - but these are the best I've ever used. Extremely quiet, and they actually work. I use these at home and in the office (medical practice).
