Bill Evans Trio with Lee Konitz & Warne Marsh - Crosscurrents

Another of his late life recordings (1977) to my liking

Listening on vinyl (Fantasy F-9568, 1978), actually better resolution than the 1989/92 re-master available on Qobuz which sounds pretty compressed, I wish someone would release a decent re-master of this one!

Lee Konitz - Alto Sax
Warne Marsh - Tenor Sax
Bill Evans - Piano
Eddie Gomez - Bass
Eliot Zigmund - Drums

John Coltrane - Soultrane

The absolute saxophone master in a solid quartet formation

Recorded in 1958 (Prestige 7142), listening on vinyl (Japanese 1977 mono re-issue), open and dynamic

Looking forward to compare it to the Analogue Productions recent remaster/release

John Coltrane - Tenor Sax
Red Garland - Piano
Paul Chambers - Bass
Art Taylor - Drums

An evening with Coltrane, this album is sooo good

Listening to the CD this time, reading through the pamphlet I learned that the album was mastered in Montreux and this CD re-release was coordinated by Claude Nobs, the genius founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival

John Coltrane - Tenor & Soprano Sax
