Default I'm through with Amazon.

Jeff 'buddy can you spare a dime' Bezos has decided to streamline the information you can give to the drivers in case of a complicated address, choosing now only to include a drop down list describing a house, so of course I can't get packages delivered anymore to my flat. They gave me a three hour window so I waited outside for 45 mins stopping every delivery van to no avail, then they apologised for not delivering within the agreed window and would 'deliver' later. Which was 5.30. They simply couldn't find my buzzer window, because I couldn't give them instructions. So a long awaited head phone wasn't delivered. I gave them my phone number for the re direct but I doubt they would use it. New cardboard boxes for Jeff to live in on the water front are not cheap and phone calls cost money. Oh well, at least I got some fresh air.

More fresh air lies ahead, and the clock is counting Mr Bond, Mr James Bond. New secret code to greet the non arriving van.1.45- 4.45 is the new plan, but they will pointlessly do one drive and back up the esplanade, again fail to find my side road, and say they can't find it,around 7.40 this evening. Mr Edison, what is a telephonic device? They will never catch on. Death and night and blood to amazon.

Solo house in the country, should be no problem, seeing as you could swallow blighty in Texas with room to spare. Well, a slight inflection of my head, and I espied an estate car chap discharging with two parcels....and one of them was mine!!!!!! 'twas the Sennheiser 560s headphones. So far a taste of the high end for £146. Now my portable is almost equal to my hi fi. The quest was long and hard. I'll give my work address for the next delivery, I've been there so long if it's delivered to the wrong department the receptionists know me. Always charm your receptionists at work chaps, it pays dividends.

Amazon kept on screwing up my vinyl orders, so I no longer order vinyl from them. A couple of my classic "Amazon moment" highlights:
  1. Ordered a Johnny Cash "American Recordings" 6LP box set. They send me Beach Boys "Endless Summer". Not even a box set! I complain, and have them send my order again. They send a SECOND "Endless Summer".
  2. Ordered a Blind Guardian "Nightfall in Middle Earth" (Heavy Metal). They send me a super duper cheesy 1990s Celine Dion album "Falling Into You". The kind of record you'd get beat up in high school and eternally ostracized for being caught with. Now the Metal Gods will never let me into Valhalla. Thanks, Amazon
How this company is worth $trillions, I can't understand.

They sell below market value, and they used to deliver. It's mainly 2nd hand cd's and books delivered by Royal Mail I go for, never electrical goods, and now we know why. Postie has a key to my apartment block. Go with what you know is the message here.I lucked out on a amazon chap who knew where I lived. I think he was local. It was a private car delivery. I was very lucky to spot him.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I ordered the Tone Poet release of Bobby Hutcherson "The Kicker." They sent me Eric Church "Mr. Misunderstood." WTF!
