Default My Siberian is loving this wintery weather

Our Siberian is definitely in his element today.

We've been actively feeding the birds since we moved into our new place about a year and a half ago. The bird population seems to have tripled since then. Waking up to a full chorus in the morning and the late afternoon serenades from the song birds is a real treat and makes the expense of birdseed well worth it.

My wife loves the wildlife. We only live but one minute drive to a rather busy area full of stores and shopping malls but this little oasis of tranquility behind our place has attracted foxes, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits and tons of birds. I think I have seen just about every bird that exists in the North East. Our Siberian keeps a close eye on all the wildlife often voicing out loud the arrival of deer, foxes or rabbits as he spots them from the window or the deck.

Here is a little video from today's wintery wonderland. The birds and our Siberian are obviously loving it. https://youtu.be/PuhHyANfcpA

Pretty Siberian & a nice gathering of birds in your back yard Serge.

Sometimes, I think the birds at the feeders I have eat better than I do.

Best Sir,

Bob

Thanks Bob. No doubt the birds get used to the good seed mix. When the feeders are running empty, they seem to remind us by perching in the tree near the windows and are often seen interacting with the cat that is always looking at them through the windows. Many don't even get spooked when I fill up the birdfeeder anymore, they just sit above within a few feet and fly down as soon as I turn around.

Birds are also great in controlling insects and having a balanced ecosystem. https://www.gardeners.com/how-to/att...irds/8103.html

and another favorite bug controller is BATS!

Yes, no insect issues whatsoever here. Of course the "night patrol", the bats are also on the prowl and very busy. I have not seen fireflies for a while until we moved here. The light show from them in the summer is spectacular. The whole area is just lit up with them. I thought bats eat them?

The woodpeckers... Now these guys can be annoying sometimes with the ruckus they make on some mornings. One of them decided to hammer away at the attic Gable vent. Very persistent fella. I had a realistic looking OWL installed near the Gable vent. No more trouble from the woodpecker. Ha!

We had a woodpecker feasting on my neighbors wood siding. Then they found out they had termites and other fun bugs in there. He would sometimes peck my aluminum siding. I guess you could call him a bird brain.

His Royal Siberian Highness...

No doubt my cat thinks we are just lowly peasants, around to serve and to cater to him.

You are absolutely correct. Those are His beliefs and expectations regarding His humans.
