To my knowledge (maybe D100 being the youngest) has been seasoned and well broken in.. |

Epic review...reads like a thriller...thank you Vesuvius for this excellent write up and kudos to your crew for sharing their experiences...what a fun day it must have been. Glad to hear the old lady still holds her own in 2nd place.

They were all broken in. The only thing not broken in was the USB input on the 777 but that proved to be irrelevant in our findings.

Emile : great write up !!
Thanks a lot. MDA1000 owners are winners when it comes to price / performance ratio. I won't change my MDA either.

Thanks, E. Your write-up represents a lot of work and is very well done. Food for thought for many, I am sure. Good to know, or at least very interesting to know a below $1K unit can hold its own. Stunning that it out performs two of the more pricy units, regardless of the brand.

Excelent Vesuvius.
but you are comparing MDA1000 (not usb) with usb components. I think , the potential is a cd in module MCD1100 The comparison should be only with usb components Last edited by mati1979; 01-29-2013 at 05:14 PM. |

Great review. I am going to be borrowing a D100 to compare against my MF M1Dac. I'll let you know how that goes. Since you prefer that Music Hall over the D100, and the Music Hall is in the same price range as the M1Dac, I am very curious to see how they stack up. I anticipate the D100 will sound amazing to ME...haha
What about some other well known Dacs? Benchmark DAC1/DAC2? NAD M51? Love to know how they would fall into this ranking. |
