My system always goes down in quality in the summertime when a lot of ac is on. Even though I have a conditioner which has been no help. It has gotten bad enough as my system became more revealing that I do not want to audition new gear during the grey season. Do different areas of the country have grey seasons at different times due to industry?

Guys, my 350 was secondhand and it went back to be updated at one point to the latest specs so it has more than enough hours on it, probbaly into 4 figures.

My TT should be back up and running next week so I can see what's heppening with that. It might be that the amp or pre just need a service or looked over.

Are you sure that bias current is properly set? Do both sides of the heat-sink have the same temperature? We can have an approximate diagnostics just measuring the 240V AC current that goes in the amplifier.

IIRC, the OP got his Pr350 quite new, so it may also not be fully run in.
I have 16LS pre and 350 power amp, I got the 350 amp recently the past month and a half. I don't know how many hours the amp have in terms of running in but the sound definitely smooth out after a month of casual listening. I used to have the CA200 amp prior to getting the 350 and I agree that it was not difficult to coax the CA200 to sing in comparison. I think the liquid presentation of the 16LS pre balances out the transparency of the 350. I'm happy at what I'm hearing right now and it's quite difficult to imagine how the sound would get any better than this! .

For reference, I used to enjoy the 16LS/Prem 140 and 16LS/CA200 pairing. The 350 gives me the musicality of the Prem 140 and CA200 to my ears but the dynamics and grip on my speakers are something that only big amps can do.

The rest of my system are SF Amati Anniversario speakers, Cardas GR SC and IC, Resolution Audio Opus 21 with GNSC mod cd player, DNM IC for the cd player, squeezebox connected to the DAC of the Opus 21, Technics SL1200 MK V TT, 20amp dedicated line with Shunyata SR-Z1 outlet, Shunyata Hydra 8 power conditioner with Shunyata power cables for the amp and preamp. I know I need to upgrade my TT because it doesn't sound as good as the cd player but I'm too lazy to change records so that will do for now.

Gees this app is rubbish on an iPad. Would not let me edit. Anyway as a CA 200'CT5 owner that makes me feel pretty good. Only recording I have that remotely sounds treble lay and slightly hard is a HD vinyl rip of Come Away with me by Nora Jones, although that recording also sounds very open. My 500 other albums all sound great through my vivid B1s via mostly Nordost Valhalla ICs, speaker cable and power cables. I only have digital, no vinyl, via the Naim DAC and I have a treated room.

I agree

That is why I bought the Google Nexus 7, so I never have to use my wife's iPad again.

Snap ! bought one last week .. great arent they, and so cheap.

My ipad just crashes all the time. It also cost me £800 yet is now worth less than £200.

350 smooth and supple here.. but 350 just shows everything what happens up front. GIGO. Tinkering with the thought of going ET5....

I don't have any problem editing.
