How long does it take to smoke a turkey?

Does it take many hours at a very low temperature?

Smoke a turkey? How do you even get that big bird up to your lips?😗

Seriously, 3-4 hours usually works. Be sure to brine and dry skin (if u want crispy skin)... And I even separate the skin from the breast with a spoon. If you use thermos, put one each in the thigh and one in the breast as the breast cooks faster unless you turn the bird at intervals. I'm on a plane at the moment but I think you can pull the bird when it reaches 160 degrees... Carryover heat will be an additional 3-5 degrees. Rest for at least 10 mins . Some people use tin foil to slow the breast meet cooking time... I don't. Getting hungry now happy early TD everyone? What music will you play? 😉

It depends on the size of bird. I have done a 32 lb bird and it took six . I have a twenty pounder and I am guessing 4-5 as it is terribly cold here. Yes I will rinse it and dry it in the fridge on its stand . I shoot for about 350 temp

What size bird?

I find that 12-14 pounders come out best. I do multiples to cover the number of people I am feeding.

Ok nevermind. Just saw your 20lb results. Outstanding.
