Indeed, on all counts. We also like a good lamb stew in cold weather and have about 2 pounds of stew meat in the freezer I'll make up next week. Biggest problem we have around here is finding lamb. Have to drive about 40 miles to a butcher in a more 'ethnic' neighborhood to get good lamb. Even Wegmann's does not always have a decent selection. A good red goes well with any cut of lamb.

Lamb is not generally served at a Passover seder. As with other meats from cattle, only the forequarters are kosher--approximately up to and including the ribs, it gets complicated exactly where anatomically to explain here.

In general, many people refrain from serving lamb for the Passover Seder meal because they don't want their guests to think they might be eating the symbolic Paschal sacrifice.

Love lamb, we smoke it on the grill after rubbing with garlic and sea salt. Then wrap in foil and with fresh mint and roast low and slow for hours.

I don't care for lamb at all. Mom use to cook lamb a few times a year and I dreaded that meal. She served it with mint jelly. I don't like the way the fat gets grainy when it starts to cool. I havn't eaten lamb in nearly 50 years and don't plan to start now.

Well I here ya Dan.

I trim most all the fat away, and I think the smoking on the grill make the meat very different, and I do not do the jelly thing at all.

Personally I prefer Elk, but oh well.

-- Doug, enjoy today, enjoy the coming weekend, enjoy Good Friday, enjoy Easter Sunday, enjoy Easter Monday (Canada), enjoy many good meals, including your smoked ham, enjoy some good bottles of wine with them meals (lamb and all), and enjoy listening to music and everything else that life is all about.

Me, I'm having spicy chicken noodle soup right now with shepherd's pie. ...No wine, not today. ...Irish brew though.

Sounds great. Think I'll pick up a leg and try that in the next couple of weeks. Great match with baked acorn squash and rice. When I was working in Israel we would got into one particular Arab village for shank & rice served in a large bowl. Makes my mouth water to think about it. Sometimes wish I was more of a camera person as it would be great to have pic's to post. Yummm.

I've got doner kebab shops all over the joint if I want lamb. I'm going to treat myself to a Totally Wicked Tornado T kit and vape Red Bull at 18mg all day, gobble some luscious chockies and two bottles of non alcoholic sparking Chardonnay, watch the Tour of Flanders and see some mates in the evening.

Today was spent looking and finding a new pad, just come back from church and am listening to a couple of Clifford Brown cd's that me Mum brought me for Xmas.

Happy Easter/Passover chaps.
