Default KX-R just dropped into system...WOW

My dealer is letting me borrow their demo KXR until my new one arrives in 2 weeks. Dropped it into the system last night and have been listening since 4 this morning. the KXR/Sasha/ARCRef 150 combo is incredible. I have been playing "Folk Singer" in 24/192 through the DAC 8 along with some other high Rez selections...and can't get enough. Highly Recommended combo.

I also tested the bypass feature since this is part of a hybrid system...and it works flawlessly. This is one awesome preamp

enatai252.......Congratulations on your new Ayre KX-R. It is a beautiful product. So are their MX-R amplifiers. There have been others here who have mated the KX-R with amplifiers other than Ayre. Serge (PCH1) drove Lamm amps with his KX-R and loved the set up. Have fun.

Congrats on the new pre! It will be interesting to see what, if any, differences you experience with the demo unit vs the NIB unit relative to break in. Thanks for sharing your excitement, and enjoy!

enatai252.......Congratulations on your new Ayre KX-R,

I bet the ARC Ref 150 combo with it is awesome. For some reason, I never tried a tube amp with my KX-R when I had one. Now I am sorry I never gave it a go. It is a solid piece and worked flawlessly for me. Enjoy the new system. Very nice!!!

Cool...very stealth. Mine is coming in black as well but will have logo. Can't wait to have it all set up...having the demo while I wait eases the pain.

Wow, never knew Ayre was willing to "debadge" their equipment for customers.

Nice to see the black as well; I've been considering it but am not sure whether a color (well, more precisely, the lack of a color) is worth the extra $250…

Well, that is a non magnetic audiophile color which keeps all the sound textures of the small preamp signals....

My "black" KXR arrived a few days ago. I would say that $250 is more than worth it. I had a silver demo while I waited and I think black looks much better. Wish the remote would have also come in black

Will get the new motorola hd/DVR box in " black" this Week from infinity...had to get shipped from warehouse distribution to ensure I get 4 of the new boxes...than I will lose the last of my silver components
