Default Post your favorite paintings

Hi folks, since the season is changing (from old man winter into Spring where I live), I thought it would nice to have a thread where we can post our most loved paintings. To start things off, i've posted two of my favorites which by the way are on display at the National Gallery in Canberra if you're visiting our fair shores

Cheers,
Bodhi

"The Coming of Spring" by Frederick McCubbin

"Water Lillies" by Claude Monet. This painting was acquired by the NGA Canberra for $826,000AUD in 1979. It is now valued at $45 million!

Refer to this link -- the families pride and joy in paintings and my wife has many more that are in the thousands .. but, this one was a handed down from its creator and master.

Appropriately hung w/lamp above the fireplace in the family (and audio rig) room.

Priceless.

Heres one that I bought off of Vintage Pete, I have this half way down my 180º stairway with a light next to it & get frequent comments on it. This is one that I very much like, thanks Pete, you are appreciated.

Hi Bob, that is a beautiful painting. I can understand why it is a family favorite. I love the way the artist captured the wet street & light shining through the windows
