Default AR15 fans?

Do we have any AR15 owners among us?

Absolutely. My home club, Cumberland Riflemen, Millville, NJ, has the only 600yd range in the state. I shoot the service rifle competition on same: standard NRA discipline of 20 rounds in 20 minutes off-hand at 200yd, 20 rounds rapid-fire (2-strings of 10) sitting at 200yd, 20 rounds rapid-fire prone at 300yd and 20 rounds prone in 20 minutes at 600yd. Also shoot the same thing 200/300yd at the Central Jersey club and, when I can, on reduced targets at 100yd at the Atlantic County Range, where I won the competition last year. Should shoot it more to defend my title, but it is on the same day as our 200yd silhouette competition, which I'm shooting this season.

For a rifle, am using a White Oak Precision upper with a Krieger 1-in-7 barrel and 1/4" double-pinned rear sight. Standard WOP fare. Lower is a RRA with a RRA NM 2-stage trigger that WOP reworked. Using a CS recoil spring. Also have a Geissele NM trigger ready to go when the RRA wears down too much. Geissele is a member of our club, as well. And, builds all the triggers for the Army Special Ops guys, so is staying too busy to shoot with us much. He is 'distinguished', so knows how to get it done.

I load my own ammo for all my centerfire guns on a Dillon XL650. For 100yd I am shooting a 62gr HPBT mil-spec bullet I buy in bulk and push with 26.5gr of Win 748. For 200/300yd I use the Sierra 69gr or Hornady 68gr HPBT pushed with 25.5gr of RE15. For 600yd, it is the Sierra 80gr HPBT pushed by 24gr of RE15.

Great fun with a great gun.
