If i had another room that i could justify another system to put in it.....i think it would be an Ayre System.

Serge.......Trust me, with the C1000C/P, MC601's, MCD1100, and the Sonus Faber Amati Anniversario speakers, she's real and in the room.

I have no doubt the Ayre KX-R, MX-R, CX-7eMP system would also put Katie right in the room, perhaps with a slightly different flavor but certainly just as enjoyable.

Agreed, that's why I asked why the switch? All that financial outlay just for a slightly different flavor?

What happened to us that we feel the need to swap gear just about every month? Seems many of used to hold on to the gear for at least a few years, not to mention all the stories of decades or longer of ownership from the older guys/generations.

Every seasoned audiophile knows that once you cross a certain threshold, it's just a different flavor, not a night and day difference. Those still upgrading and building their systems working from the budget components on up can look forward to revolutionary changes but those with systems such as yours... Well, it's just lust and the obsession with audio gear.

I am just as guilty, can't say that I practice what I preach but I am trying to change and be more fiscally responsible with this hobby of ours. I'm looking forward to slowing down this LuFlu as we call it and just enjoying what I have. We"ll see how long that lasts...

Serge.......I couldn't agree with you more. My comment "perhaps" was just that, and more than likely Ayre will never happen. I am closing the audio check book for awhile. Yes, I lust for other sexy audio components. Hey, I'm a wild and crazy guy, but I am thoroughly satisfied with the current setups. I did squeak one last order in tonight for the new Oppo BDP-95, but that's it.......maybe.

Ok Dan, an Oppo 95 is actually a necessity!
