Listening right now to Katarina Karnéus, singing in Mahler - Orchestral Songs. Beautiful music !

Music Web International: Recording of the Month June 2011; Classical Music Sentinel: "The CD ends with one of the most touching and sublime moments in music, the Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen (I Am Lost to the World) from the Rückert-Lieder. If Katarina's interpretation, along with the apt orchestral support by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the heartfelt direction of conductor Susanna Mälkki don't captivate your mind or break your heart, take your medication and call your doctor".

In glorious 24/192 downloaded from Linn. One of the best recordings I have heard in a long time and some of the most beautiful choral music I have ever heard. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went to bed last night with it playing and we drifted off to such peaceful music - it was a lovely evening.

A perennial classic : Cantate Domino, with the Oscar's Motet Choir (dir. Torsten Nilsson), Alf Linder and Marianne Mellnäs (Proprius SACD).

Merry Christmas to all ! :snowman:

I'm not often in this section of AA, but wanted to share this album I was introduced to at a demo by Vienna Acoustics, it's recorded in Montreal and Ava Maria just blows me away...amazing!

Cheers!

Mike
