Yes, it's a CX-7mp. I use it as the transport to feed the QX-5. We'll see long term as the QX5-5 burns in.

Wait until you have about 500 hours or so on it before making judgments. The silver that is used in the components need so much time to burn in. That's why it takes sooo long.

I hear you. I'm afraid patience is not one of my virtues. Actually the improvement over the 30 hours or so is remarkable. I do have Roon and Tidal up and running. That makes a continuous burn-in easier.

Ha, you haven't heard what it can do yet. Not even close, lol...well, close, but no cigar yet ....LOL....I'm burning in my new Vandersteen Quatro's and Ayre AX5/20 (with the crossover installed into the amp and it has to burn in also).

Cstooner, did you get ethernet with fibre media converters working with the QX-5 ? I have found FMCs to be very effective with the microRendu if the downstream FMC is powered, at its best, with an Uptone Audio LPS-1 at 5V with an MC100CM or MC200CM. In addition 100mbps may generate less noise at the ethernet receiver than 1Gbps. I do not have a QX-5 (yet?), but enjoy the Codex.

Not yet. I'm calling Comcast tomorrow to finally move over to them and get real internet. Then it looks like I'll have the router in a cabinet here in the audio room and then I'll run my connections from there. I tried to make this whole thing easier for me to set up. I just need the converters, cable and switch, but I've waited on the switch as someone I know is trying out some commercial and an audio one.

FMCs are right before the QX-5 so switch noise is dropped. Any reasonable auto speed switch will do.

I understand what you are saying, but I have a friend from Computer Audiophile who's heavily into this. He feels using a Waversa switch makes an audible difference for the better. I don't understand much of this, but am learning quickly. I'm not an engineer, but I do understand basic tenets.

Default QX5 and Tidal..

Wondering if anyone else is has issues with Tidal and the QX5 in exclusive mode. I can play 'master' quality songs without issue in exclusive mode but can't play the standard quality music, all I get is static. The QX5 is connected to a mac mini via USB. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks.

Haven't tried. I'm still not connected and need to call Comcast still, lol. I was told by an importer of a top server to try a simple and inexpensive ethernet filter deal first. SO much going on at home, so I don't know when I'll be able to make this change.
