Default What jazz music are you listening to?

As Bart says, Parker’s best years were before “high fidelity,” but this one doesn’t suck too bad[emoji41]

So, don't expect perfect sound.
But he was so good that I manage to listen through the limited sonics.

A Harmonia Mundi box I own offers decent remasterings, and gives you a good idea about his evolution:

Thanks Bart, I could not find it on the streaming platforms but I managed to order a new box at a decent price from the US online giant's .de shop

2 great books have arrived today from Japan, with wonderful pictures of 283 Kissa Jazz cafés/bars all over the country, and their highly Japanese audio systems and amazing Vinyl/CD collections. Highly recommended!

Michael Weiss - Persistence

New release, thanks to Tony's reading recommendation, following a Jazziz review, via Qobuz 24/96

New discovery, I wasn't familiar with the NYC based pianist who has been a sideman to Johnny Griffin amongst others.

Nice interplay, I also liked Eric Alexander's performance on Tenor Sax.

Too bad the piano recording can sound a little muffed, especially compared to the saxophone and drums takes...

Michael Weiss - Piano
Eric Alexander - Tenor Sax
Paul Gill - Bass
Peter Van Nostrand - Drums

It can get a bit hectic at times, but they show terrific interplay, and brilliant ideas.
Worth watching the duo's live performance
