Josh, I have always liked the looks of Focals. I was very shocked to see the modest price on these babies. Coming from the Grande Utopia.

Josh, aren't we always? . Yes, I certainly would like to upgrade my speakers to more match the level of my amp, though, my speakers are surprisingly good for the money. Truth be told, I have too many needs pulling me in different directions. Me thinks a source or pre(pro) upgrade comes first before the speakers. But the Focals are certainly a big blip on my radar. That is, unless you want to offer your Futuras.....

Yes, I certainly like the BP26 and/or the BDP and BDA combo. But recently, the HT bug has hit.....might just save up for an SP3.

I don't blame you. With those bad boys, you may never have to buy speakers again.

You REALLY cant go wrong with Bryston! I had the BDA for a while before I bought the MCD1100 and BDA is an awesome piece of equipment..... I need to read more about the BP26 it looks very interesting. Good luck on your journey..... KEEP US POSTED

The Futuras are here to stay for many many years I am in heaven.

Josh, thank you for the word about the BDA as well as the good luck, I appreciate it. I'll be sure to keep AA in the loop.

I hope you are enjoying your newer room!

I have its little brother - the 816V. Actually, if you are considering the "W" version, the 816V is more like a little cousin. The "W" version drivers should have much better quality construction. The cabinet design creates a decent amount of bass in my small listening area - even with just one woofer per cabinet. FWIW I listened to several other speakers in the 816v price range - and some at higher brackets. I preferred the 816V's clarity and balance.

They are easy to power. My little 50 watt tube amp is more than enough for the 816V.

A tip - if you get them, the metal tweeter cover can pop off using a ball point pen or something similar. It is only held on by the tweeter magnet. Revmoving the cover opens up the high end a bit.

If you would like more info on the "W" series speakers, there is a Stereophile review of the Focal Chorus 826W 30th Anniversary Edition loudspeaker here:
