It's wonderful! I listened to before and after tracks (plus a vinyl version) of Eva Cassidy's wonderful rendition of Time After Time. The last elements of digital harshness/edginess/brightness are vastly reduced. A much more natural and listenable sound. Very nice job Ted!

I am astounded by each one of these firmware upgrades. Windom may very well turn out to be the best upgrade ever. I have only had a hour of listening, but it sounds more analog with a bit more bass punch. Piano and voices sound more natural. How many more of these upgrades can we expect to enjoy? No one knows, but it is like getting a new DAC each time!

Agreed - just the evening with it, but it's like a new (and better sounding) DAC to my ears thus far. I don't care for the direct distribution model, but I love the FPGA DAC and the FREE updates. I suspect I can get about 60% for my DAC and DSD on the used market compared to before their announcement of direct sales only, but it doesn't matter right now - as I just got what sounds like a new DAC to me.

No doubt there is lots to learn about programming and perhaps what it can do for this type of DAC.
Call me skeptical but I feel most of these are simply well planned out incremental changes to something PSA has found improves some element of the PSA DAC. Do they really have another ‘breakthrough’ every 3-6 months?
