Spoke with Kent English at Pass Labs and Mark at Reno Hi-Fi today. Those XA200.8's certainly look tempting! I think they'll do an excellent job in my system and near the price point I can talk myself up to. Otherwise, I'd go for the X600.8's. I'm looking for that Class A nuance and detail.

Have anyone made a comparison between XA200.8 and XA160.8?
Recently tried the XA160.8, I am quite pleased with the performance.
Just wonder I should go For XA200.8 or not.

What's speakers you running? The XA200 is a heap of power!

I would say most speakers would run fine on the XA100.8

Hi,
I am using SF Aida. I was driving them with 2 pairs of ARC REF 250 amplifiers, one pair for the bass and one pair for the mid/high of Aida.

I have decided to switch to solid stage as I could not stand the 600 hrs of running in of the REF powers amplifiers.
The reason I was asking in my previous posting is:
Shall I have 3 pairs of pass labs XA-160.8 OR 2 pairs of XA-200.8 to drive my Aida.

That is some serious amplification!

I would have thought 1 pair of either model would be fine for normal listening levels.

What volume do you listen to music at? and how big is your room?

For amp at this level, the power supply is as important as the amp itself if not more important. With a full size separate power supply for XS-150 for 150W Class A, it clearly has an advantage over the single chassis XA-200.8 with 200W.

I use XS-150 driven by ARC Reference 10 and they are the best sounding combo in my room, at least, best sounding as far.
