hello,
i just traded for a meridian 808.2 ...it appears to be in excellent condition and plays well. i do not know it's history. so that leads me to be concerned. from what i understand they tend to need new power supplies eventually. should i wait till something happens ? or ship it to meridian and have then replace prospective problem areas, "give it the once over" and basically give it a clean bill of health. in addition, are upgrades available for this model? thanks so much everyone! michael |

I included the upgrade from switch mode to a linear power supply along with the some board upgrades to take my take my 808 from v3 to v6. Nice that the upgrade updated the warranty too.
Other than the power supply I do not believe you can upgrade a v2 to versions 5 or 6. You should contact a Meridian dealer or go the MeridianUnplugged site where you can get more answers. The upgrade to v6 was well worth it.

Congrats, they are a great unit.
For me, I would service if and do any upgrades at the same time.
