KEF Blade 2

Last week, we visited the TRPTK studio with 5 KEF Blade 2s and 4 KEF LS50 Metas.
Driven by Hegel H30s with Merging Tech. electronics.
A remarkable experience.
Will try to find some time to post more about it.

So, from the answers I got so far, it seems the B&W 803D4 are sonically no match for the Blade 2s?

I.e. you need to step up to the 802D4`s to truly compete with the Blade 2; would that be correct to say?

Having not heard the 803D4s, I can’t honestly say that it sonically underperforms against the Blade 2s.

We are fortunate to have such a great hobby with so many options. Speakers are a very personal selection (house sound, aesthetic & design, build quality, price, etc.). If you’re able to demo these models at a dealer or at home, perhaps the listening opportunities can reveal where you’d be leaning.

Hoping other AAers with Hegel/B&W systems can provide additional insights. End of the day, let your ears guide you through that decision, you will thank them for it!

To my ears, the latest two renditions of the 802Ds are too bright (tipped up in the highs). The earlier D2s were better to me. As said, speakers are very personal in what SQ works for each of us.

Kal any plans for Stereophile to review the PSB Synchrony T800. Biggest speaker Paul Barton has ever made and most expensive. I bought the Imagine T many years ago after reading your review in the magazine. Still have them in my home office. For the money they're hard to beat!
