How would you describe the difference between the SE and the non-SE soundwise?

My dealer didn't have the SE for audition, unfortunately.

The non-SE of more traditional CJ sound, warmer with slightly roled off top and bottom. Still very detailed and transparent. The SE version is still more detailed with crystal clear highs and very accurate and impactful lows. Transparency and presence take a step forward as well. The SE can compete with the best based on my experience.

Second of all, a reviewer should be impartial. There's no perfect piece of equipment and what compromises you can live with, might not be to my taste. The reviewers job should be to paint a picture for the reader of the sound, of both the strength and weaknesses of the component as they hear it, without their prejudices showing. (I walk away from way too many reviews not knowing what the component sounds like--esp. since there's often no musical examples given for me to check their opinions). Then it's up to the reader to decide whether or not it's worth listening to or investigating. Two reviewers who was very good at that were Dave Wilson and John Nork. So just because I like a component doesn't mean that I would necessarily buy it for my system. On top of that, then you'd have people critizing reviewers then for changing their equipment like underwear.
