"Only" 60 watt class A here (Pass XA-60.5) and absolute bliss.
Much beter than when I was running them with my 250 watt Electrocompaniet amp

I had a pair of SF Cremona powered by MC452. They matched beautifully to my ears.
Upgraded to Amati Futura last month, and now wondering the route of biamping with 2x MC452. Anyone?

From what I have heard when listening to the Amati Futuras with 452s:

1) You shouldn't need to biamp; a single 452 is more than capable of driving the Amatis to any normal listening level.

2) If you're going to purchase a second 452, think about selling the first and getting something else. At least consider something from Ayre, Bryston, Moon, or Pass.

Does anyone have any thoughts on my current quandary?

I've been using an old Krell KSA80 with my Elipsa SEs, and while I love the grip, control and phenomenal bass, I'm missing a bit of air and sparkle. It's a great amp, I like it very much, but it's not a long-term solution I don't think.

I borrowed a Mark Levinson 432 that my dealer had available and I'm close to pulling the trigger because it's better in many areas, it has a sound that sucks you in gradually rather than going for fireworks, and it's a very "listenable" amp (this is essential for me, I can't deal with hardness or brightness at all). That said, it's not a slam dunk, and I feel like I'm giving up a bit of bass and not really reaching the levels of performance I think my speakers can attain, but overall I think it's the better amp and probably worth the extra cash. I expect I'd be happy with it, but the amp question would still niggle.

I was telling my dealer today that I'm tempted to push a bit further, trade in/sell my GRAAF monos that are now just gathering dust, and try to finish the amp question for the time being, when he suggested a pair of new Classe CA-M600s that he can do at a really good price. Now, they're significantly more expensive than the second-hand 432, but I could probably stretch to it if I sold my GRAAFs.

I'll probably be able to dem before making a final decision, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has heard the CA-M600/Elipsa SE combo, or if anyone has any opinions at all really!

Hi everybody,

Just sold of my LS50 and bought a Cremona Auditor M, but haven't decided on amplification yet.
Currently using the Marantz Pearl Lite KI as it has been powering my LS50 before.

I've decided (although recommendation is always welcomed) on three amp, do you guys have any experience on this three pairing?

1. Pathos Audio Ethos
2. Audio Research VSi60
3. Audio Research DSi200

My room is small; it's 11ft x 10ft.

Please help me here, and sorry for my English as its not my first language.

Thanks.

Bartwuster, welcome to AA. I have Cremona Auditor Ms and used to run them with a dsi200. I thought it was a great combination. The Dsi200 had plenty of power reserves with these speakers, which I think benefit from a little power, and controlled the bass well while letting the midrange sing. I don't have any experience with the other amps mentioned but you wouldn't be unhappy with the dsi200.

Hi Antonmb,

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to audition all the amp first then before making any decision..😊

This might sound ridiculous but I am running a nearfield setup with Liuto monitors and a 2W SET amp. It sounds awesome.
