Default Primaluna Dialogue Premium Preamp
Not much love around here for this unit. Want to say I love mine. I owned a Mcintosh C2500 and I ended up selling it in favor of the Primaluna. I only needed the unbalanced preamp function of the Mac anyway.

Lots of tube options for the Primaluna. I rolled in a pair of 59' Bugleboys in the input section and Gold Lions for the rest. I will swap out the 5AR4s next. For $3300 I have to give it a big thumbs up.

I have the ProLouge Premium integrated in my living room setup driving KEF LS-50's. I think they pair very well and for the overall cost I'm loving it.

I have a PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium Integrated Amp (with a WW Silver Electra- great synergy) being fed by a Bryston BDP-2/BDA-2 combo and going into Thiel CS 2.3. That PL (got new from Ivan) is great on the ears, tough on the back.

Good Stuff! The preamp is very quiet. I wish they made a matching Phono Stage, I bet it would be a knock out.

I know this is an old thread but very interested in the Primaluna preamps. Anyone here ever compared against one of the Audio Research preamps (I own a LS27)?

Or does anyone here have any experience with a Primaluna preamp & the MC275 together? I'm really curious if the tube regulation makes this preamp special like the marketing claims and how that would pair with the Mac.

BTW, I made a visit to an Audio Research dealer who also sales Primaluna. When I asked about the comparison to AR he said the PL would be quite a step down which made me a little suspicious. Deferring to AR due to profit margin perhaps? Don't misunderstand, I love my AR but the response was quick and dismissive.

From the preamp side - no contest. AR

The power amp of the PrimaLuna on the other hand is very good. Different flavor. But good in its own right. I like the flexibility of switching tubes from KT120/88/EL34 but I do prefer having a pure balanced design because my gear needs it. But I’m not using AR power amps.
