Rolex Daytona
I like this "Paul Newman" style white gold Daytona on a crock strap. Thanks for the pics Riley.

That is a beautiful Rolex Daytona Chronograph, but I can't help but wonder where the hands are the small chrono dials in the first photo.

Nice one. Unlike the Stainless Steel, these are actually easy to find/buy. I almost pulled a trigger on one a few years ago when I was after a SS Daytona and none were to be found. Lost the craving for it and I am very happy with my GMT II as my daily watch.

Did ever read The "Rolex Report" Book? (Not recommending it, just asking?) I helped fund the Book and the Author, and he (John B), met Paul at a race, who said his only Daytona came from his wife (Joan) in 73. It was engraved drive slow on the back. It was a screw down stem not Push. Most people call the Paul Newman watch from the movie "Winning" in which he seems to have a look alike with push in tabs, not screw. But it was not a Rolex on close revue. Paul was older so maybe he just forgot but it, Its been a great marketing tool for the Daytona Rolex. Last edited by KingRT; 08-27-2009 at 11:06 AM. |
