Default 39 year gap

I decided the other day that I needed another BMW to go along with the '75 2002 in my garage, so I picked up one of these. It's amazing the amount of technology that's gone into cars in the last 39 years.

Congrats on the new ride. The 1975 2002 looks in real nice shape.

My first car was a '74 2002 that same color combination. It was 1986, boy what memories. I would love to own that car today... Enjoy your rides!!

The 1975 car is stunning. Is it yours from new or did you bought it recently as a classic?

I bought it new in 1975. My friends thought I was nuts for spending $6,100.00 on a car.

Here's a funny story. Back in 1978 I bought a new "lifetime" battery from J.C. Penny (when they had an automotive section). The warranty states that if the battery dies for any reason during the time I own the car, they will replace it for free. I've been getting a new battery from them like clockwork every 4 years for the past 36 years.

Interesting story! I think it's admirable that you were able to keep the car from new, over 40 years, without giving up to the temptation of selling it. That's the best way of owning a classic.

Never had one, but always liked those 2002's. The high roof/low beltline of it are striking.
It seems like an extreme example of the counterpoint to todays style.
