I don't even know any groups, hardly, between those years, or at least that became popular during that period.

I am apparently older than you think!

Whether LP or CD I would have little to listen to if I was forced to choose music from the catalogs I receive in the mail.

If there was a review site as well...

The very best (sounding) of the older LP's may well be on Harry Pearson's - The Absolute Sound Super Disc List ... When I was still "looking" I carried this list around with me and actually got all but about 4 or 5 of the LP's listed. They are uniformly excellent.

I was not suggesting that you fit that category, rather just providing an example. I grew up with the music of the 60's and 70's but I have little desire to repurchase songs that have been played ad nauseam. Sure I have a few older albums here a there but I prefer to look for new artists.

The problem is you don't listen to music that is enduring.

I prefer dead composer music.

THAT is what is so good about classical music.

Time has eliminated the most of the bad stuff.

.. I think your questions are quite legitimate, accurate and very to the point for anyone considering setting up vinyl gear into their sound system.

Actually, that is one of the key reasons I have not gone back to vinyl.. finding access to excellent recordings is highly time consuming and exhaustive, and as Audio Nut alluded to, the ones that are easy to find are very expensive indeed. Of course, once you have found a source that meets your needs, you can buy volumes of music at extremely, low prices.

Hi Jim!

I've been lurking mostly, and work has kept me rather busy so, I've not been able to share as often during the day. I'm hoping to correct that in the coming weeks.
