MacLin
Almost three years ago I ditched my Cayin China made amp for a MC275v6. A year later I got a new C220.
2 weeks ago, I stumbled into a Linn dealer in Amsterdam looking for a turntable. The Linn Majik DS was on order basis. The next day I told the dealer I wanted to bring home something home as a souvenir as i always buy some audio gadget on any vacation. To my surprise he gave me a deep discount on a new majik DSM w/o exact. It took me a max of 5 mins to say yes. Now home I plugged the Linn into the Mac and played HD MUSIC. The soundstage was wider and the music crisper. it's really true that the front-end brings a lot to the show. Suddenly I had the Stig driving the macs and the macs delivered all the power that the Linn needed. I played all the songs again and didn't know I was missing a lot. My problem now is I got the entry level Linn streamer... Years from now I know I'll run after the higher models. But amp /preamp wise my Macs are here to stay |

Congrats on the Majik DS. I think Linn DS systems and Mcintosh pre\amps make a great pair... perhaps I'm a little biased though :-)
