We did in a bottle of 2015 J. Bookwalter 'Suspense' cab (90%) blend. Excellent WA state red. Big & robust with a great finish.

Start with a few wee nips of Weller 12 yr old and progress into the night with a nice Pinot Noir.

Happy New Year to all.

I have been using the Redemption ‘High Rye’ Bourbon in my Manhattans lately. I use it 2:1 with Dolin Sweet Vermouth, a couple of dash’s of Peychauds, a Woodford Reserve Cherry and some Cherry juice to taste. Mix all with Ice, shaken, then poured straight up.

If I had a signature Manhattan, that would be it!

How do you make yours?

Happy New Year to all!

It is. Like all fine whiskies I like to drink it out of a Brandi Sniffer.

That is waaay too expensive for me to make a Manhattan from. My typical pour for a Manhattan is Makers Mark but I am perfectly happy with Jim Beam or Evan Williams.

Craig, regardless of my whiskey of choice my ratio(whiskey to vermouth) is 5:1, two dashes of bitters and a 'bada bing' cherry. Depending on mood I drink it up or on the rocks.

My everyday 'go to' is VO, my favorite Canadian being Canadian Club 12 year Small Batch, tough to find in this backwater state of Pa !

I've had it and yes it's good but I tend to agree with Craig, pricey Whiskey is best for sipping IMO.

regardless...... so, do you drink your Manhattans 'perfect' ?

Hey Dave, Never heard of or tried the ‘perfect’ version. I have something to look forward to.
