Like RVs, the bigger the boat the further ahead you have to think/plan when operating.
Hopefully you can get aboard one to 'look around'.
Lots of experience on power boats while diving off the NJ coast.

My brother checked out a used 39 for me this week. With full modern electronics and bow & stern thursters, it a very easy boat to handle. Since most of the runs on the Great Loop are under 60 miles and speed is not an issue,it could do most of it on electric power.

Have to wait until I get a COVID-19 vaccine before traveling to the East coast to look at boats.

Indeed. Waiting our turn for the vaccine, as well.
Good luck with your search. Should be a great trip regardless of the boat you use.

solar-powered? "When seafaring, a pair of 900-horsepower Caterpillar diesels are capable of pushing the catamaran to a top speed of 25 knots, or about 29 mph. The screws can also be rotated underwater via electricity to cruise at 5 knots, or about 6 mph."

All yours for just $30 million....;-)

Not sure, perhaps "solar assisted"? 900HP does sound like it is biased heavily into the Class "dinosaur juice" territory.

And learn Norwegian.
Perhaps you could suggest they should do the same for the Erie Canal. Am guessing there is a longer cruising season for Erie than for the Telemark.

We got our 1st shot (Pfizer) on 1/19 and scheduled for the 2nd shot on 2/9. Getting scheduled was a hassle, but my wife is very persistent and kept after it (online registration) until she got us both in. If all goes well we should have full protection by 2/16. Then we are headed to FL.
