Congrats on the purchase. I hope it exceeds all your expectations.

FWIW, the Zesto pre would have been a most excellent choice as well.

Little late here, but I went from a C2300 to a zesto andros and the improvement was very noticeable. I think the biggest difference was the separation, the individual instruments just pop out now. I was tripping a little at first. It’s like listening to an album for the first time, again. I do hope you like the MP1100.

That's quite a jump from the $2K MP100. Did you get a price break on the 1100 as an open box, or was it full retail (whatever that is)? Either way, it will look cool in your equipment racks.

No price break and the unit was brand new. Had only been out of the packing and not plugged in. Dealer indicated it would take him several months to get a replacement so he was not inclined to offer a discount. He did deliver it to my house which is a two hour drive. Just had time to play a couple of albums so far but there is a lot more detail in the playback. I will report later on that. Trying to figure out how to put my own profile in.

Congratulations on the purchase. And It's nice that the dealer drove all the way to deliver the unit, when I'm sure shipping it would have been more convenient for him.

McIntosh dealers cannot ship most of their units. They must deliver it or you must pick it up at the dealer. I purchased most of my MC from an out of state dealer and they were shipping it until McIntosh told them it was a no no. The last thing I bought they had to drive it to me and it was an overnight trip for them. I used a dealer in my state this time and had to pay sales tax.....!

Thats interesting. Every McIntosh piece I've ever owned has been shipped.

Sales tax. Yeah.

If the dealer's out of state, that would make a difference, especially for new gear. There are online retailers who can ship, but they don't sell the higher-end Mac offerings like your MP1100. I got my MCD500 from Audio Classics in Vestal, NY near Mac HQ. AC shipped it, but it was a NOS unit; anything current would need to be bought in person. Were I getting the MP100, I could go to a dealer here in NYC or get it over the phone or online.
