The MC275 I ordered on Dec. 16 arrived today. Already on my 4th album...
Anyone else notice that McIntosh was born to play Led Zeppelin? Already love this amp. Tom

I am patiently waiting. |

Tom, absolute congrats! The MC275 will easily meet and exceed all its published specs. In the most recent Stereophile there is a typical example of an expensive tube power amp that when tested would not meet its specified power by a wide margin among other things. I believe that specs are more important with tube amps because they are typically lower in power than solid state amps. If an amp is rated at 50 watts and you are counting on that 50 watts, and it will only provide 25 watts at clipping, this is quite significant.
McIntosh is one of the few manufacturers that guarantees its tube amp to meet or exceed published specs for the life of the amp. IMO, the MC275 is the best 75 watt tube amp on the market by a wide margin. Best Charles

The MC275 that I ordered on November 13 arrived today. I was told it would take two months and it arrived 4 days short of two months.
Great job Mcintosh! |

Charles,
Thank you very much. I knew when I chose it that some tests showed it to be more powerful than stated. I also had complete confidence in McIntosh's engineering. And while I knew it would be an improvement over the solid state amp it replaces, the biggest surprise is how right it sounds, to borrow c-j's slogan. For the first time ever, I am listening to my stereo system without any sense of dissatisfaction with the amp or preamp. I can and will happily live out my days with this amp. sailorman--you should ask your dealer about your 275, if you haven't.. Certainly orders should be filled in the order received. Tom
