Default Same hum, same channel

if no, remove the interconnects so there is no input signal and if it goes away, it's coming coming from upstream.

If still present without any upstream signal, turn the amp off and pull the 6SN7/driver tube. Then turn it back on. If the problem goes away, it's the driver tube.

If no, turn the amp off, leave the driver tube out, and then swap the output tubes right to left and vice versa. Lastly, if the problem is still present, replace both the output tubes.

If the problem is still present after all these tests, we can make arrangements to send the amp in for service.
Hello Mr Addict ;-)

Performed tests as requested and still have same issue.

Best, Alan

Right back at ya! Been away from my system for a week. It's good to give the ears a rest once in a while. Always amazed at how it sounds when I fire it up again

Default Something from Dennis' toob vault...

Dennis asked me to lighten up his load as I organized the shop, so I have liberated a pair of lightly used Cetron 300B tubes from his collection. If you have any interest, please check the accessories section of the marketplace.

I wonder who made these? Are they Russian or Chinese?

For you non-tubeophiles, here is a bit of history, although it is a bit dated from 2009.

Huh. It looks like Richardson bought the tooling from Western Electric so maybe those Cetron 300b tubes have some of the DNA as the original. The company that restarted the WE brand made a big deal about having the original tooling and consulting with original staff. Guess that was from Richardson.

Difficult to say for certain. WE had more than one big tube plant. One being in GA, which morphed into their fiber-optic plant. They had another large tube plant in KC. Both were still operating when I left Bell Labs and all WE production plants went thru many changes during the 80s into the 90s during the era of divestiture and the "bably Bells". I'm thinking the current WE people in GA likely got their start with the local WE production gear and Richardson, being in the midwest, likely came from KC and, possibly, from Indianapolis. RCA also had a large tube plant in Indianapolis.

Allan's Cetron tubes are clearly marked 'Made in the USA'.
