Default What DAC are you using

I don't know how to create a poll, but I am interested in the DAC's people are using, other then the DAC's in the MCD500 or the MDA1000.

I use a PS Audio with Cullen Mods, stage 4. I have the MS300 connected to the preamp via the DAC.

Anyone using Bel Canto, Benchmark, Cambridge, Apogee, or others like the Neko Audio D100 advertised on the site.

Before I started using the DAC in the MCD-500 I used the Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 21. In fact I have had two of the them with a Benchmark in between. The Tri Vista to me was a much better DAC and can be found for about $1k on Audiogon.

I had the Cambridge DacMagic before the MCD500. Although I liked the DacMagic, the 500 is on another level.

would you say it is 17 times better?

$400 vs $6500?

i doubt it.

Bassmantweed,

I don't think you can measure better, or another level, by the retail price.

I think you measure it by what you hear, rather then what you pay.
