Fairly modest by Syntax' standard (do you have a nice, used Lyra you want to send to a good home? ), but finally got the new Ortofon headshell so the Kontrapunk-b (retipped by SoundSmith after ~2000hr of play - ruby cantilever & OCN contact line diamond stylus) is back in its deserved position as #1 for my listening. Simply a great cartridge. The others, from the front are the AT33R, AT150Ti, DL-303 (also retipped with the next step down from the ruby/OCN) and 2M-Black, plus the AT311EP 'work' cartridge for setting up TTs, etc. in the back.

Hi John,

Sorry - I meant the Koetsu. Did not come with any instruction at all.

LP-S - also helpful as this will replace the Colibri on the Bergmann thanks.

Hmm, Whest - also getting the 2 box one.

Regards,
Joe Ling

Congratulations with your Koetsu. Me also curious about that Azule, please let us know in future how it goes. Btw there are some reports based on some Koetsu users that it did not go very well with SME or Graham arms but preferred heavier tonearms. If you have a higher mass arm perhaps you may try it as well to compare, my two cents.

EPIC setup, Joe!

Recommended VTF range is 1.8-2.0, and I've personally used 1.9g-2.0g with great results (currently running 1.9g). I've gotten excellent sound out of my Koetsu/Graham Phantom combo, and like you SME, it's lower mass than some recommend for Koetsu. With the Koetsu/Graham, my issues are centered around getting the cart mounted properly in the headshell, and getting stuff (i.e. anything you might need that wasn't included in the box) from Graham. These issues can be overcome, but are also extremely frustrating.
