My go-to SACD is Nat King Cole's Love is the Thing.

It's a 2010 AP release which is spectacular top to bottom.

Early this morning as the curtain of darkness was being swept away by the approaching dawn, I listened to this Gold SACD from the Chiaroscuro Quartet performing the Joseph Haydn String Quartets Op. 76 | 4-6 on the BIS label. It's an all digital recording and offers DSD, Multi-ch Surround as well as Redbook CD.

To my old ears it's a brilliant rendition of these 1797 Haydn works and I enjoyed the experience tremendously. I'm going to spin it again tomorrow at daybreak just to internalize the perfomance a bit better.

Enthusiastically Recommended.

Nice.
Should have "Rumors", Fleetwood Mac SACD this Sat and will report back. Should be an interesting comparison to the original MoFi vinyl.

Interesting first listen. There is so little compression (loudness) added that it very easy to think there is a lack of bass & highs. However, turning the volume up an additional few notches brings everything back together. Not sure if I've ever heard "Songbird" done so well. Very detailed & clean. Definitely happy to have added it to the collection. Will compare to vinyl this week.

Tried the "Brothers in Arms" SACD today and was about as good as digital gets. Well done. Right up there with the Japanese pressing of same. Not sure I need four copies of this album, but three of them (SACD, Japanese CD & vinyl) are all tops. Happy with all.

Default Tony Bennett, "Playin' With My Friends"

Had forgotten about this SACD sticky. This SACD is not only great sounding, it may be one of my favorite albums of any genre. They really did a superlative job with this and the side-men are terrific.B
Includes Diana Krall, Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crowe, B.B. King, Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, k.d. lang, Kay Starr, Billy Joel & Natalie Cole.
