Default Amsterdam

I sat across a pond in Vondell Park in Amsterdam from this heron for nearly two hours while he/she (wasn't close enuff to tell and I don't know the difference anyhow) bobbed for fish. I musta used up a 16 gb card.

I was mesmerized. While I was shooting the whole pecking at the water repetitive motion reminded me of the little flamingos ya used to see on bars that had a red liquid filled bulb at the end. One gentle push forward, and the flamingo would bob too and fro for a long time...

And, yes I was...wink wink nudge nudge.

Cheers,

Mitch

Hi Mitch, that’s a wonderful shot. It’s usually hard to get so close to the long-legged water birds, but you nailed it. Beautiful photo!

By the way, I was in Amsterdam for the first time last January and had an absolute blast wink wink wink ha ha ha. We even managed a concert at the Concertgebouw and a recital in the Hermitage Museum. It has overtaken Munich as my favorite city.

Cheers, ron
