Default Just to piss Bill off a little more...

Sorry for the quality of the pic - came from the phone, and yes that is part of the system in the background...

But, since you are here late night again...

USDA Prime seared filet mignon, English Pea puree, seared spinach with clove.

Paired with 2007 Mollydooker Two Left Feet, Cabernet, Australia.

My rock and roll musician son who lives in LA just walked in the front door to surprise us. Lots of excitement around here.

Looks like a great meal. You had me until Molly Dooker. I recognize the accomplishment - but most of the Aussies are just a bit too big/forward for me.

Like my avatars, I like big and forward. Mostly on the shiraz path - but this cab was no slouch.

Normally I am a shiraz + cheese person. That combo is near unbeatable.

Have no doubt the cab was very good.

I'm a huge fan of the dirty grape. But for me Syrah means mostly France and California.

I used to agree with that statement until I started really exploring that inky fruit we are seeing from the new continent.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some du'pape gsm's and an occasional CA syrah... But if I am going down that dark path for the night CA is just too weak and a lot of our French friends need hours (and hours) to breathe out. Had a fantastic E.Guigal a few weeks ago but we had to quadruple decant it just to prep it for the main course - and even then it was still tighter than... (finish sentence here).
