Default Holy crap - a cop that actually does his job!

[ame=http://youtu.be/O-G8k44m3VE]TSA OPT OUT & FILM: DEPUTY SHERIFF PROTECTS 1ST AMENDMENT AT ALBANY AIRPORT - YouTube[/ame]

Can't say I give a crap either way about the cause... but love it when the little guy wins with the help of the 5-0!

Amazing what a little knowledge and a calm/collected attitude can accomplish!

Very interesting and handled well.

That said if someone opts out I hope they stay the hell off my plane and the pat down is thorough and lengthly.

Jim,

A ton of people opt out as they (typically) fear one of two things: the "invasion of privacy" or the levels of radiation they receive. Several very frequent fliers I know always opt out - they figure better safe than sorry since they sometimes pass through those Xray machines 2-4 times a day.

I'd rather spend the money on training people properly than relying on sketchy and overpriced "technology" - then we don't need to get endoscoped or frisked at all...

Ernie
Before I retired I lived on planes flying close to a quarter million miles per year. I really don't care about peoples issues with getting frisked. They can take a car, walk or stay home. Safety is the number one issue, not my comfort.

When I fly and get frisked I thank them for their efforts.

That was one terrific Sheriff!

The airport employee was an a$$#o!e.

The person taping and the person handing out flyers weren't obstructing anybody or anything.

The TSA and airport people have gone way overboard over the last ten, even 15 years. They are among the most inflexible, unreasonable, uncooperative people I have ever met.

I will make a contribution to their website.

Well, all parties seemed to be civil. And, now that I don't fly a a gazillion miles a year anymore, I don't mind the screening, and the shoes, and so on. I do agree, it does get old after awhile. I also think that some TSA folks are getting better training and have the right attitude, but it's highly dependent on what city you're in. It's a tough tough issue, with no easy solution.

Thanks for the good film reference.
