Default Sonos S5 UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Ok, guys... don't burn me at the stake until you hear this thing...

It has five digital amplifers, 5 speakers (including a small sub) has ONE cable ( the one that goes in the AC outlet)

Connects wirelessly to the rest of your SonoS system and delivers the most amazing performance that I HAVE EVER HEARD from such a small package.

Garage, Kitchen, Bedroom... anywhere you want great sound without a lot of wires.

Rhapsody, Pandora... itunes...

You get the idea. I bought one today for a client that just moved into a house nearby and wanted some sound ( I also purchased them a Z 120 and a Bridge) Well, the weren't ready today, so I had to bring it in my house and set it up.

JAW DROPPING is all that I can say.

Dan, Please buy one to confirm this for me!!!

Stephen.......The Sonos S5 looks slick. It features 2 tweeters, 2 mid-range drivers, 1 bass driver, and 5 dedicated digital amplifiers, one for each speaker. The S5 also features adjustable bass and treble controls, plus the SonosNet 2.0 wireless mesh network technology. It looks like an interesting product, and certainly seems to offer great value at $399.00. This might make a great Christmas present.

Dan,

Thanks for the additional info.

I am still listening to this little thing and simply cannot believe it.

Even though I bought it for a client, I know now that I will HAVE to have one!

Order yourself one, if you don't love it, Sonos will take it back and I will reimburse you the return shipping cost.

Stephen.......As unique as the Sonos S5 appears, I already have two ZP90's and a ZP120. I have access to internet audio streaming all over the house and studio, with no need for a stand alone radio like this one. Still, the Sonos S5 is very cool, and I have no doubt they will sell a bunch of them.

It looks interesting but with our whole house system and the SonoS we have music everywhere, plus we have all the music on iPods that we can use with the B&W Zeppelin if we need portability.

The S5 is great for a kitchen, bathroom, office , sunroom. I was a beta tester during it's development and sonos was able to make improvements based on feedback using software to modify the sound. It sounds surprisingly better then you would expect. No I am not on payrol and did not receive any remuneration, I was a volunteer and happy to help.

David,

Do you have a current model?

I live in Santa Barbara, where Sonos is based, have helped them sell a BUNCH of units... and have yet to get to BETA tester status...

How'd you do that???

I was very impressed with the performance of the 2 ZP90's and ZP120 that I bought and simply sent sonos a email to let them know that I thought they did a terrific job. I told them how I used one of the Zp90's with the DAC on the MCD500 and told them that I would be happy to be a beta tester and made a wish for them to offer a 124/92 upgrade option. As a beta tester I am not supposed to discuss products not released into the market yet.
