New Olive music server/DACs: 04HD, 05HD to join the 06HD...

I give them credit that they are trying to improve gradually. Not sure I would make a move based on these latest changes, generally my Olive 4HD has been a good purchase.

Good catch on the digital in Dan...you would think that would be an easy feature to keep...and a useful one. I used it for a Wadia iPod dock...then you could play other peoples iPod if wanted.

Esteban.......I missed seeing this. Where did you find that statement?

My wish is for Olive to build a music server in a full sized component cabinet that includes a 5 or 6 inch front facing capacitive touch screen and full iPad integration.

I have the 6HD and just updated the software hoping that the new OS / interface would be part of the update. It is not. Hopefully they will continue to support and update the previous OS.

Looks like a nice improvement. I have only seen these online, never had a chance to see one in person. The 6HD looks like a nice unit.

Will be interesting to see how the new interface works in practice, and what else is around the corner this month (based on the announcement).

I am thinking of buying an Olive 03 or 04HD, I will connect it to an external dac, is there any difference in sound quality between the 03 and 04 when using the USB or sp/dif?

Olive doesn't have any suggestions for compatible amps and speakers. Does anyone on this site have any ideas for someone assembling a system around the 6 or 06?

Please take this the right way. Why are you thinking that a particular amp or speaker is needed for the Olive? Unless you mean how high up the food chain do I need to go to appreciate the quality of the Olive?
