This is very subjective; however my Clearaudio Innovation Wood w/ Goldfinger Statement and Aesthetix Rhea Signature phono-pre on a HRS-MXR rack will give it a run for the money.

The multiple from a K01 is 5x as much.

WOW! If the CD players are that much better (in your words) why hold on to the analog rigs and LPs? Sell them off and buy more CDs.

Because I love them; it's not just about money, it never is at least in my case.

I listened to a few records yesterday and really enjoyed it. The level of my vinyl system is nothing to write home about, and probably could be bested by a Clearaudio Concept MC setup pretty easily so it is not close to "high end". The level of my digital is significantly better in terms of just about every definable parameter, but to me there is just something about vinyl that is "right" and enjoyable to listen to. I inherited my dad's Denon TT and put the Ortofon 2M black on it, and I'm glad I have it! I will never be without vinyl in my system again...

One other related thought that I have mentioned before - when I was at the Cape visiting Ivan I thought the sound of his 2-channel room was much better listening to records than the computer streaming via his MCD1100.

You know we can go around in circles on this. To me, you are saying an Analog rig is inferior to a CD player, and I'm thinking regardless of price. Am I right so far? Why would someone reading this thread, thinking about buying or getting into vinyl buy a TT and associated gear, if again in your words (CDs/players are better). Why spend the money on an inferior product? Or, why keep an Analog rig/LPs if I can get something alot cheaper and get better sound? Kinda does not make sense to me that you as a dealer and audio aficionado would say something like this, and the majority of people out there already have the notion that analog/LPs are inferior to CDs. I'm scratching my head on this one.

Now you are putting words in my mouth; I never said or even implied that my analog rigs were inferior; they are not. Do they cost more, yes they do; they involve more equipment and better isolation. That is part of the fun, and certainly a joy to operate and listen to.

To me vinyl is more natural in sound. Again, I'm not going to say vinyl is better, it is "different". If people what to experience a difference in music sound, vinyl is one way to go. Alot of people out there associate vinyl with snaps, crackles, and pops. Well, I say to them, you probably never cleaned your LPs and/or cart, that's why. Vinyl can easily have the same black background that most CDs have. Again, I will say that Master Lu is not giving a analog/LP rig justice as a dealer or audio aficionado with the comments he is making on this thread.
