Joe told me the other day that MSB changed their dac name by adding a "plus" word to it . So I e-mail Vince at MSB and ask him the difference between the two. As usually their support and answers to e-mails are address immediately. Below is his answer.

"All the DACs went up in price. They now include a better on-board clock and the Pro I2S board. If you have the original version with the new 140 clock or the 77fs Femto clock and the Pro I2S board, there is no difference whatsoever between the new Plus version and the original. It was a way to raise the base performance of all the DACs against the competition yet be sure that the original owners could upgrade with a better clock and the pro board or feel they still have our best most current technology if they already have those items (you do....)."


Well in the next month I will be upgrading from the Platinum Signature IV to the Diamond dac IV. So it should be a crystal clear Christmas.

Very useful information, thanks for posting.

I suspect the competition may have been the femto clock tech they are using in the Analog DAC, and wanted to further the distance between that and the Platinum IV range.
